Rae Kate Shen (Piano) holds a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance and a Masters degree in Accompanying Performance from the University of Southern California. Besides piano, she has also received formal instruction on the harpsichord, organ and briefly on the violin.Presently, Ms. Shen teaches piano
and coordinates the Suzuki Program at the University of Redlands Community School of Music and the Arts, as well as the Suzuki Piano Program at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. She is a registered teacher trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has studied extensively with Dr. Kataoka in the United States as well as several times in Matsumoto, Japan.

Besides teaching, Ms. Shen is a member of the Marina Ensemble and the Pacific West Quintet, performing in many chamber concerts. In addition, she is a frequent guest clinician at numerous institutes and workshops throughout the United States, as well as a member and an adjudicator for the Music Teachers' Association of California.
