Donna Lim (Violin) received her Suzuki teaching certificate from Dr. Shinichi Suzuki at the Talent Donna founded the Round Valley Strings and was its director for 17 years. She taught string orchestra for the San Francisco Unified School District at James Denman Niddle School and kindergarten for the Round Valley Unified School District. She has been honored to be in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 1991 and 1994 as well as in the 2007 edition of Who's Who Of American Women. Among her accomplishments, she includes past president of the Suzuki Music Association of California, editor of the International Suzuki, Journal, co-director for the Northern California Suzuki Institute, teacher at the Domnican University Suzuki program, co-founder and director of a concert series - Music in Round Valley. In 2005she was honored to be the conductor of the San Francisco AIl-City Concert Orchestra. She is presently serving as the president of theCoastal Branch of the Suzuki Music Association of California. She has been a registered teacher trainer for the Suzuki Association of the Americas since 1985and has taught in workshops in California from Eureka to San Diego as well as Oregon, Washington state, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Nebraska. Her other life, since 1986, includes being an Emergency Medical Techician. She has worked as a volunteer firefighter for seven years in which time she received tow Fireman of the Year awards as well as being the first female president of a fire department in the county of Mendocino. She has been with the Disaster Medical Assistance Team-California 6 since 1998. |
